The Barcelona Institute of Architecture is pleased to present the fourth and final BIArch Open Lecture of the Fall 2011 term. The lecture, titled "Catalyst", will be delivered by architects Manuel Bailo and Rosa Rull, founders of bailo + rull I ADD + Arquitectura.

Manuel Bailo and Rosa Rull graduated from the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, where Bailo is currently a PHD candidate. They founded bailo + rull I ADD + Arquitectura in 1990.

Their work has been nominated on several occasions for the FAD Prize between 1995 and 2011 and their project for the Façade-steps of the Manresa Town Hall (2005) was selected for the exhibition On-Site: New architecture in Spain at the MOMA in New York in 2006.  In addition to their practice, both Manuel Bailo and Rosa Rull have developed an intense academic activity. Manuel Bailo has been part-time lecturer at the Department of Urbanism of the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, guest Projects lecturer at the Escuela Politécnica de Alicante and lecturer in Interior Design and Construction Projects at the Escola Muncipal d’Art i Disseny de Rubí. Rosa Rull has been lecturer in Interior Design Projects at the Escola BAU Universitat de Vic, invited Projects lecturer at the Escuela Politécnica de Alicante and lecturer in Projects and End-of-course Projects at the Escola Superior d’Arquitectura de la Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (ESARQ-UIC) as assistant to Federico Soriano.

Bailo and Rull will be introduced by photographer Xavier Ribas, with the lecture taking place on Wednesday, December 21st at 8pm in the Auditorium of La Pedrera (Passeig de Gràcia, 92). Attendance is free but seating is limited. Please contact info@biarch.eu with any questions.
